وَمَنْ يَفْعَلْ ذَلِكَ عُدْوَانًا وَظُلْمًا فَسَوْفَ نُصْلِيهِ نَارًا وَكَانَ ذَلِكَ عَلَى اللَّهِ يَسِيرًا ﴿۳۰﴾ إِنْ تَجْتَنِبُوا كَبَائِرَ مَا تُنْهَوْنَ عَنْهُ نُكَفِّرْ عَنْكُمْ سَيِّئَاتِكُمْ وَنُدْخِلْكُمْ مُدْخَلًا كَرِيمًا ﴿۳۱﴾ وَلَا تَتَمَنَّوْا مَا فَضَّلَ اللَّهُ بِهِ بَعْضَكُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ لِلرِّجَالِ نَصِيبٌ مِمَّا اكْتَسَبُوا وَلِلنِّسَاءِ نَصِيبٌ مِمَّا اكْتَسَبْنَ وَاسْأَلُوا اللَّهَ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمًا ﴿۳۲﴾ وَلِكُلٍّ جَعَلْنَا مَوَالِيَ مِمَّا تَرَكَ الْوَالِدَانِ وَالْأَقْرَبُونَ وَالَّذِينَ عَقَدَتْ أَيْمَانُكُمْ فَآتُوهُمْ نَصِيبَهُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدًا ﴿۳۳﴾
﴾30﴿ Wa mai yaf'al zaalika 'udwaananw wa zulman fasawfa nusleehi Naaraa; wa kaana zaalika 'alal laahi yaseeraa
﴾31﴿ In tajtaniboo kabaaa'ira maa tunhawna 'anhu nukaffir 'ankum saiyiaatikum wa nudkhilkum mudkhalan kareemaa
﴾32﴿ Wa laa tatamannaw maa faddalal laahu bihee ba'dakum 'alaa ba'd; lirrijaali naseebum mimmak tasaboo wa linnisaaa'i naseebum mimmak tasabn; was'alullaaha min fadlih; innal laaha kaana bikulli shai'in 'Aleemaa
﴾33﴿ Wa likullin ja'alnaa ma waaliya mimmaa tarakal waalidaani wal aqraboon; wallazeena 'aqadat aimaanukum fa aatoohum naseebahum; innal laaha kaana 'alaa kulli shai'in Shaheedaa
﴾30﴿ And whoever does this (violates the rulings) out of transgression and injustice (by diminishing the rights),
We shall soon cast him into the Fire, and that is easy for Allah the Exalted.
﴾31﴿ If you avoid the major sins from which you have been forbidden,
We will remove from you your evil deeds and admit you to a place of honor to enter.
﴾32﴿ And do not wish for that by which Allah the Exalted has given some of you superiority over others.
For men is a share of what they have earned, and for women is a share of what they have earned.
And ask Allah the Exalted for His bounty—surely, Allah the Exalted is Knowing of all things.
﴾33﴿ And for everyone, We have appointed heirs from what the parents and relatives leave behind in wealth.
And those with whom you have made agreements—give them their share as well.
Surely, Allah the Exalted is Witness over all things.
[30] This is a warning regarding the Hereafter.
‘Udwanan (transgression) means exceeding the limits by doing more than what is allowed,
and zulman (injustice) means falling short in the divine rulings by neglecting or doing less.
[31] This is a glad tidings.
By kabā’ir (major sins) is meant shirk (associating partners with Allah), disbelief, opposition, and denial of those rulings that were previously mentioned in this surah.
That is, the condition for having sins pardoned is to protect oneself from disbelief and shirk,
and likewise, avoiding major sins when one has the ability to commit them is also a righteous deed that leads to the forgiveness of sins.
By mudkhalan karīman (a place of honor) is meant Paradise.
[32] This is the thirteenth ruling—it is a prohibition against envying one another.
"Mimma iktasabū" (of what they have earned) means that there are actions suited to men,
and for women, there are actions suited to them, and due to these actions, there is a difference in rank.
Likewise, among ordinary people, there is also a difference in their levels because of their different deeds.
Therefore, due to this difference, it is not permissible to envy each other.
[33] This is the fourteenth ruling—regarding the mawla (the one who has a bond of loyalty or friendship).
That is, if there is friendship and a pact of mutual assistance has been established between people, then give them their share—that is, grant them gifts or offer help (it does not mean a share in inheritance).
Mawālī is the plural of mawla, which has many meanings, but here it refers to the close associates or supporters.
By “those with whom your oaths have bound” is meant the mawla of loyalty, and by “their share” is meant giving gifts and assistance.
